NATIONAL TOP TEN RANKINGS SCY 2016-17

The National Top Ten rankings for the 2016-17 SCY season have been published, and Club Tribe earned 25 individual and 18 relay rankings!  Congratulations to all of our Top Ten swimmers.

INDIVIDUAL RANKINGS

The women led the way, and Katie Grier (35-39) led the women with a national #1 (and national championship) 100 FR (52.15), three #2s (50 BK, 100 BK, 200 FR), two #3s (50 Fly, 100 Fly), and a #4 (50 FR).  Marina Falcone (25-29) had four individual rankings:  200 FR (2nd); 100 FR (4th); 50 Fly (10th); and 100 Fly (10th).  Kristen Harris (40-44) ranked in all three breaststrokes:  200 BR (2nd); 100 BR (4th); and 50 BR (4th).  Shannon Greene (30-34) also had three rankings:  200 Fly (4th); 1,650 FR (7th); and 1,000 FR (8th).  Gabby Mizerak (25-29) ranked 7th in the 50 BK.

Three Club Tribe men earned two individual rankings each:  Kevin Gallagher (25-29 – 100 FR (3rd) and 50 FR (7th)); Scott Hensley (30-34 – 200 BK (6th) and 100 BK (9th); and Kyle Loughran (25-29 – 1,000 FR (7th) and 100 FR (9th)).  Matt Nilson (35-39) ranked 5th in the 200 Fly.

RELAY RANKINGS

Club Tribe had a spectacular showing in the relays, with 18 Top Ten finishes and 10 national #1s – including 2 national records.  The only teams with more national #1s were Palm Beach Masters, The Olympic Club, and the Arizona combined team. Club Tribe now holds 5 national records in relays, two of which were established this season:  W 25+ 400 Medley Relay (4:00.63 –  Alex Czaplicki, Kristen Harris, Marina Falcone, Katie Grier); and Mixed 25+ 800 Free Relay (7:20.49 – Marina Falcone, Katie Grier, Luke Robbins, Kevin Gallagher).

The women of Team 1693 also ranked #1 in the 25+ 400 Free Relay (3:38.21 – Katie Grier, Shannon Greene, Marina Falcone, Sara Shaner), while the Men ranked #1 in the 35+ 400 Medley Relay (3:45.77 –John Rockwell, Rich Williams, Matt Nilson, Michael Lovett).  In addition to the record-setting Mixed 25+ 800 Free Relay, Club Tribe finished #1 in the 18+ Mixed 400 Medley Relay (3:58.00 – Scott Hensley, Carter Head, Shannon Greene, Sara Shaner), 25+ Mixed 400 Free Relay (3:19.84 – Marina Falcone, Kyle Loughran, Sara Shaner, Kevin Gallagher), and 35+ Mixed 400 Medley Relay (4:11.45 – John Rockwell, RuthAnne Thomas, Matt Nilson, Julia Davidson).

The women had three additional Top Ten finishes:  35+ 200 Free Relay – 3rd (Kristen Harris, Michele Choe, Courtney Hurtubise, Katie Grier); 25+ 200 Free Relay – 6th (Shannon Greene, Suzy Sleman, Marina Falcone, Gabby Mizerak); and 25+ 200 Medley Relay – 6th (Katie Grier, Kristen Harris, Marina Falcone, Sara Shaner).

The men posted four additional Top Ten finishes:   35+ 400 Free Relay – 3rd (Rich Williams, Dan Earle, Matt Nilson, Michael Lovett);  25+ 400 Free Relay – 4th (Kevin Gallagher, Carter Head, Scott Hensley, Luke Robbins); 25+ 200 Free Relay – 6th (Kyle Loughran, Scott Hensley, Luke Robbins, Kevin Gallagher); and 18+ 400 Medley Relay – 9th (Dan Earle, Erik Lesnewsky, Carter Head, Lavelle Perry).

Finally, Club Tribe Mixed relays also had four additional Top Ten finishes:  35+ 200 Medley Relay – 5th (Katie Grier, Rich Williams, Lisa Wimberly, Michael Lovett); 35+ 200 Free Relay – 6th (Rich Williams, Michael Lovett, Kristen Harris, Katie Grier);  18+ 400 Free Relay – 7th (Carter Head, Shannon Greene, Julia Davidson, Erik Lesnewsky); and 25+ 200 Medley Relay – 10th (Katie Grier, Rich Williams, Michael Lovett, Shannon Greene).
