MEET RECAP -- DCRP LCM MEET (7.9.17)
The Summer of 2017 has been Club Tribe’s best long course season to date, capped off on July 9 at DCRP’s meet in DC. Club Tribe highlights are below, followed by a link to full meet results.
Club Tribe went 1-2 in both relays, establishing 3 new Virginia records and posting 4 times that should be very competitive nationally at season’s end. In the Mixed 200 Medley Relay, our 160-199 team swam 2:10.22 (Dan Earle 35.64, Kristen Harris 36.55, Katie Grier 30.98, Rich Williams 27.05), while our 100-119 team swam 1:59.20, breaking a 17 year-old VA record (Sidney Glass 28.87, Carter Head 33.86, Gabby Mizerak 28.99, Marina Falcone 27.48). In the 200 Free Relay, the Club Tribe Women’s team broke a 17 year-old VA record in the 120-159 age group with a smokin’ 1:54.32 (Marina Falcone 28.14, Katie Grier 27.87, Ellen Minzenmayer 30.74, Gabby Mizerak 27.57). Our Men’s team established a new VA record of their own in the 100-119 age group with a 1:46.98 (Sidney Glass 25.14, Rich Williams 26.62, Lavelle Perry 27.93, Carter Head 27.02). Way to go, Club Tribe relays!!
Individually, Club Tribe swimmers racked up 11 age-group victories and four new VA records in an outstanding total team performance. Notably, Marina Falcone took more than 5 seconds off the VA record in the W 30-34 100 Fly in a LIFETIME BEST 1:04.19 (check out the race video on the Club Tribe Masters Swimming Facebook Page!), and more than 2 seconds off the 50 Fly record (29.14). Carter Head broke the M 18-24 record in the 200 Breast (2:47.30), and Kristen Harris — who will be representing Club Tribe and the USA next month at the FINA World Masters Championships in Budapest — set a new W 40-44 VA record in the 50 Breast (36.24). Great job, everybody!
