NATIONAL TOP TEN RANKINGS SCY 2017-18
The USMS National Top Ten rankings for the 2017-18 SCY season have been published, and Club Tribe rocked the house! Twenty-six Club Tribe relays achieved Top Ten rankings, including 8 National #1s. Twenty Club Tribe swimmers posted Top Ten rankings in 51 individual events, including 8 National #1s. Congratulations to all!
MIXED RELAYS
Club Tribe dominated the 18+ Mixed Relays, posting four #1s (200 FR R – L. Bureau, S. Shaner, K. Gallagher, G. Mizerak; 400 FR R – A. Henderson, A. Wujciak, S. Greene, K. Gallagher; 800 FR R – A. Greenhalgh, E. Ryczek, A. Henderson, A. Wujciak; and 400 MR – S. Glass, L. Schwartz, A. Glass, K. Grier), and one #4 (200 MR – A. Glass, L. Schwartz, L. Bureau, R. Ryczek).
In the 25+ age group, Club Tribe Mixed relays finished with a 2nd (400 MR – T. Bulakul, V. Maqueda, S. Greene, K. Loughran) and a pair of 3rd place finishes (200 MR – S. Glass, C. Fay, G. Mizerak, S. Shaner; 400 FR R – T. Bulakul, E. Minzenmayer, M. Choe, K. Loughran).
Our 35+ sprint relays posted a 3rd (200 MR – K. Grier, R. Williams, M. Lovett, K. Gass) and a 6th (200 FR R – R. Williams, M. Lovett, M. Choe, K. Gass).
WOMEN’S RELAYS
Two Club Tribe Women’s Relays finished #1: 18+ 800 FR R (A. Wujciak, L. Schwartz, E Ryczek, S. Greene); and 25+ 400 FR R (G. Mizerak, V. Maqueda, K. Grier, S. Shaner).
One additional 18+ relay achieved a ranking, with the 200 MR of A. Wujciak, L. Schwartz, K. Gass and E. Ryczek finishing 4th.
Two other 25+ relays posted rankings: 200 FR R (2nd) – G. Mizerak, S. Shaner, K. Gass, and K. Grier; and 400 MR (7th) – M. Restrepo, V. Maqueda, M. Choe, E. Minzenmayer.
The 35+ 200 FR R of R. Thomas, L. Nelson, K. Gass, and M. Choe finished 9th.
MEN’S RELAYS
Club Tribe Men ranked in all five 18+ relays, led by two National #1 performances (400 FR R – A. Greenhalgh, L. Bureau, K. Loughran, K. Gallagher; 800 FR R – L. Bureau, A. Henderson, A. Glass, A. Greenhalgh). The 400 MR of D. Slater, C. Head, K. Gass, and N. Stamps finished 2nd, the 200 MR of A. Henderson, C. Head, A. Glass, and L. Bureau finished 5th, and the 200 FR R of A. Henderson, A. Glass, C. Head and A. Montes de Oca finished 8th.
In the 25+ age group, Club Tribe posted a pair of 3rd place rankings (200 FR R – K. Gallagher, K. Loughran, C. Fay, S. Glass; 400 MR – T. Bulakul, R. Williams, E. Elsaesser, M. Lovett), along with a 4th (200 MR – S. Glass, C. Fay, E. Elsaesser, T. Bulakul).
In the 35+ age group, K. Gass, J. Rockwell, E. Lesnewsky and D. Earle teamed up for a 2nd place finish in the 800 FR R and a 7th in the 400 FR R.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS – WOMEN
Twelve Club Tribe women swam to 29 individual event rankings, led by Katie Grier (35-39), who finished #1 in the 100 FR and 200 FR, #2 in the 50 FR and 50 Fly, #3 in the 100 BK, and #6 in the 50 BK.
Two Club Tribe women racked up 4 rankings each, with Laura Schwartz (18-24) finishing 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th in the 200 IM, 200 BR, 100 IM and 100 BR, respectively, and Shannon Greene (30-34) finishing with a 3rd (200 Fly), two 7ths (1000 & 1650 FR) and a 10th (500 FR).
Gabby Mizerak (25-29) and Anna Wujciak (18-24) each posted three rankings – Gabby in the 50 Fly (4th), 100 FR (7th), and 100 IM (9th), and Anna in the 200 FR (5th), 100 FR (7th), and 200 BK (7th).
Emily Ryzcek (18-24) and Kristen Harris (40-44) both posted a pair of rankings – Emily in the 200 FR (6th) and 100 FR (10th), and Kristen in the 50 BR and 100 BR (both 7th).
Marina Falcone (30-34) posted a National #1 in the 500 FR, and four other Club Tribe women also achieved a single individual event raking: Victoria Maqueda (25-29) 50 BR, 5th; RuthAnne Thomas (35-39) 50 BR, 8th; Marie Restrepo (55-59) 50 FR, 10th; and Carina Masson (30-34) 100 BK, 10th.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS – MEN
Eight Club Tribe men swam to 20 individual event rankings, led by Lucas Bureau (18-24), who finished #1 in the 50 FR, 100 FR, 100 Fly, and 100 IM, #2 in the 50 Fly, and #3 in the 200 FR.
Doug Slater (60-64) achieved five rankings, finishing 2nd in the 100 IM, 4th in the 50 BK and 100 BK, 6th in the 200 BK and 10th in the 200 IM.
Other Club Tribe men with multiple rankings were Kevin Gallagher (30-34) – 100 FR, 2nd; 50 FR, 4th; 100 IM, 4th, Carter Head (18-24) — 400 IM, 5th; 200 BR, 7th; 1,000 FR, 8th, and Andy Greenhalgh (18-24) – 500 FR, 1st and 200 FR, 5th.
Three additional Club Tribe men achieved one individual ranking apiece: Alex Henderson (18-24 100 BK, 6th); Austin Glass (18-24 100 BK, 8th); and Sidney Glass (25-29 100 BK, 10th).
