MEET RECAP -- SUMMER SPLASH AT UMBC (7.21.19)

Five Club Tribe swimmers braved a hot day and toasty-warm water to compete at the UMBC Summer Splash LCM meet on Sunday, July 21.  We were joined after the meet by more Club Tribe teammates for a really fun post-meet meal and after-party in Bethesda.  There were many highlights, but I’ll point out just a few:

— Jeremy Linaburg of our Winchester group had a very successful Club Tribe debut, winning his age group (18-24) in the 50 BR (36.53) and joining Rich Williams, Mick Tingstrom and yours truly on a 200 Medley Relay that beat all comers (2:20.63).

— Mick Tingstrom won the Men’s 50-54 100 FR in 1:04.36, and he and his family also gracefully survived the post-meet Club Tribe social hurricane.

— Rich Williams won the Men’s 40-44 50 BR (34.75), and Katie Grier won the Women’s 40-44 200 IM in 2:42.90, a time that will very likely go National Top Ten.

Great job, everybody!
